I’M TOO YOUNG FOR WYD!!!

If I had a pound for every young person who contacted me to say that they really want to go to World Youth Day in Sydney but they are only 17 I would have my flight paid by now. Well... slight exaggeration but there are alot of you out there.

Well did you know that Lourdes are celebrating their 150th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to Bernadette in 2008? There are different themes throughout the year and 15-20th July looks at the Church’s Mission Towards Young People. They are planning to tie into WYD with a festival of Christian rock and pop music.

Ok, it won’t be WYD but there will be loads of young people there and a great atmosphere...and you can consider it practice for the next WYD. The Armagh Diocesan Youth Council (Ireland) have their youth pilgrimage at this time so if you are from the Archdiocese give me a ring or send me an e-mail and we’ll add your name to the list.
